Why we love our Trace events...

1971 Pow Wow

After all the 'foo-fa-rah' — there was no wooded area large enough for the overnighter, so they bussed us over to Mohican State Park, near Loudonville, where they found an area to spread us out and bed us down, but first Ray Lambert, built a little fire in a picnic area, for the presentation of the meaning of the FCF Fire logo and the five logs — when a Park Ranger came on the scene — apparently someone reported a fire — and ALMOST THREW US ALL OUT OF THE PARK — Ray explained who we were and what we were doing; after which the Park Ranger made us put out the fire and finally agreed to let us sleep there (as planned) but made someone stay there all night (with the bus to take us back in the morning) to make sure none of us would start any more fires! Good! We just wanted to get some sleep anyway — but we had a light rain during the night, so we did get dampened a bit, but not our spirits! It was a great experience!

I was chosen as a missionary for our group and what an awesome experience. I have been to a lot of camps and a number of national training camps - but my entry into FCF is still my favorite campout.

1998 Spring Trace

My most memorable moment during my Big Adventurer was that it rained so much it looked like an old picture of the gold mine rush with all the muddy roads and we had planks laid across the road so we could walk from one side to the other. We all had to be trailered out by 4wd truck and trailer.
